In April Superintendent, Matthew Sheehan announced his decision to retire effective January 1, 2027. Upon his announcement, the Board conducted a comprehensive search for Sterling's next superintendent incorporating feedback from the community. Through surveys of our constituents, staff, and students, we gathered insight into what is most important in the person who will lead our district into its next chapter. We developed criteria to evaluate the experience and qualifications of each candidate and understand their leadership philosophy, values, approach to collaboration, and vision for students, staff, and the district.
After careful consideration, the Sterling Board of Education is pleased and excited to announce the appointment of Dr. Kristin Borda as Sterling's next Superintendent. Dr. Borda comes to Sterling from Eastern Regional High School, where she served as the Director of Academic Programs and Student Performance.
